Your midday solution? Food Truck Thursdays.
Starting April 5, every Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., make Miller Park a weekly lunchtime destination with your co-workers.
It’s tough to spend those warm, beautiful days in the office. Be honest—you’ve been there: Longingly staring out the window just waiting for 5 p.m. so you can enjoy some time outside with family or an al fresco meal with friends before the sun goes down.
“You can break up the monotony of lunch choices, while developing a sense of community,” said Maggie Mace, Recreation Services Manager at Lynchburg Parks and Rec.
Each week features at least three different entrée trucks and two dessert trucks—food truck options change weekly.
A couple of our favorites: If you’re craving a burger, Uprooted’s Farm Burger has received rave reviews—it’s made with grass fed beef and topped with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, bacon jam and zesty mayo. You also can’t go wrong with gluten-free food truck T&E Catering’s “dirty fries”—topped with dirty sauce, parmesan cheese, cilantro and lime.
Other trucks signed up this year include: Upper Crust Pizza, Action Gyro, Pok-E-Joe’s, Nomad Coffee Co., Hardman Smokestack, Delicia’s Gourmet Ice and more.
With a unique meal and some fresh air, you might just head back into your work day a little more recharged.
“We want everyone to enjoy the park as a place to release stress,” said Mace.
