Anna Ebersold is the fifth-generation owner of a family business that dates all the way back to 1870. Gates Flag & Banner Company attributes their success to their American-made flags, flagpoles, and custom products, along with expert flagpole installation and repair. However, the real success comes from their commitment to service and patriotism, as well as the strong women who lead the way. Gates Flag & Banner became one of few women-owned businesses back in 1945, when Margaret Gates took over leadership at the passing of her husband. Today, the company is owned by Anna and her mother, Lisa Gates-McCormick, President.

Anna is most proud of the company’s growth since she and her husband, Dan, expanded into a second location in Lynchburg in 2017. She believes that team empowerment and strong communication are the keys to success. Anna’s commitment of continuing her family’s 155-year legacy is unwavering.
